On my Nikon D40, I have two action modes. The sports mode is the usual high shutter-speed mode used to take action shots. When the shutter button is pressed halfway, it will continuously focus so you can catch the action. I also have a child mode. This is basically portrait and sports mixed together. It has the high shutter speed to catch all the action, but also enhances skin tones. Also, the sport mode turns off the flash and the child mode allows the flash to be used if needed. All of these photos were taken using Child mode. My sport mode seems to be not working right. It tries to hard to focus and slows the shutter down. I'm going to have to look into why it does that... I have no doubt that it's user error.

I have cam envy! And that death stare Roxy gives you is evil!!!
Love the action shots! I can't believe that your KA was spinning when you took the picture. It totally looks stationary. Man, I have camera envy right now!

Great set, lots of variety! The drinking fountain is beautiful. And Roxy is such a diva! Is your camera a Canon? That's what I have. You might want to mess around in the "Tv" manual setting to play with shutter speeds...you'll be able to get some action with your mixer that way. Nice work!
Steph - it's a Nikon D40. I definitely need to read the manual to play with the setting more as far as shutter speed goes.
CB - I know. I kept taking pictures hoping that one would show it in motion. I should have taken it out of child mode and used something else to show a little blur of action. Maybe I'll try again this weekend.
