It’s an appliance party!
The changes in the kitchen have been less visible recently. Since the last update, the tiles were grouted and all of our appliances have come in! I worked from home the other day so I could be there for the deliveries. We cleared a space in the living room for the appliances since the kitchen isn’t ready for them yet.
We decided to get a small fridge since the space is so small. This LG model is one of the only ones sold that is 24″ by 24″. We went with all stainless steel and opted to not get a microwave. We just decided that the storage space was more important.
The contractors have patched up all the random plaster work including smoothing our the hideous popcorn ceiling that we were sporting.
Just disregard the nasty liquid nails residue on the subway tiling. It’s all going to be covered up again when the cabinets get installed. During one of our design ideas, we talked about exposing all the beautiful subway tiling. Thank goodness we didn’t go down that route. I don’t even think the liquid nails can come off those tiles…
And here’s a picture of the tile floor with the grout. I know some people were asking about what it looked like up close…

I love the tiles behind the stove. Are those tin? It’s all beautiful. I’m totally jealous, and can’t wait to start projects of our own.
Jaime – It’s actually faux tin. There’s a whole post about it coming up tomorrow!
Looks beautiful; I love those counter tops! Can’t wait to see the rest of it.
We have the exact same set up with the stove, near the radiator which is under a window. I sent my husband a link. We want to gut our kitchen and start over someday
Gorgeous! So creative and functional. LOVE it! 🙂
Love what I see so far! The cabinets are beautiful and any extra counter space-even lower-is a bonus!

We redid our kitchen this summer as well and I love how it turned out! It’s so much more fun cooking in there now 🙂 Yours came out great!! I love the idea of moving things around to get more light and counter space 🙂
We’re thinking of possible implementing something similar for a radiator under our kitchen counter. One question. How have the cabinets handled the heat and humidity from the radiator over time?
I believe this is among the such a lot vital information for me.
And i am happy studying your article. But wanna statement on few basic things,
