Black Bean Cilantro Turkey Burgers
I must admit I didn’t think this would ever happen. Hubby has actually requested Turkey Burgers on more than one occasion. I have to thank Joelen for that! I’ve made her Cilantro Turkey Burgers more than once since I tried out the recipe. We both love it. I like to make 4 patties at a time and freeze the other two for a quick dinner some other day.
We had some leftover red onion and 1/2 a can of black beans. I didn’t want to let them go to waste so I thought they might go well in the turkey burger. I gave it a shot and they turned out great!
I just chopped up the onion and beans in my food processor and mixed it into the turkey mixture prior to forming the patties. I cooked them on our griddle and served them with sliced avocado on top and sweet potato home fries.

I am Jen the Beantown Baker. Engineer by day and baking maven by night. Hubby serves as my #1 fan and official taste tester. We got hitched back in 2006. Barefoot. In the sand. With the waves crashing behind us. It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

These look amazing and what a great entry to this month’s Tasty Tools! Thanks for your submission! 🙂

So glad you’re starting to like goat cheese Steph – I live on it since it’s easier for me to digest than cow’s milk cheese.
love this! i am a vegetarian and i married a carnivore (www.cooking4carnivores.com) and i am always looking for ways to sneak him vegetables. i think a little spinach in these would do the trick. thanks for the idea!
