Avon Walk Weekly Update

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone! It’s time for my weekly checkin for how my Avon Walk training. If you’d like to see my full training calendar, check it out here or on the left sidebar of my blog.

Thoughts on training so far: This was another poor week for training. I had a really busy week and to top it off, I’ve been sick the last couple of days. I know that shouldn’t be an excuse, but I didn’t do any training this week. I did however get some more donations, which is exciting! I’ve crossed the $1,000 mark!

Miles walked last week: 0
Minutes doing cardio: 0
Minutes doing cross training or weight lifting: 0
Total $$ raised: $1,010

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! If you’d like to donate to support my walk, you can make a donation on my Avon Walk page.

Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your site! I’m in Beantown also. 🙂 I was just wondering what kinds of baked goods you’re looking for. I’ve heard before that they prefer not to have things with chocolate if it will be hot over there (due to melting).

Hi becca – last time I sent chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. Sturdy cookies or bars tend to do well, but yes chocolate can melt. The FAQ has some other ideas as well. Some people send prepackaged protein bars or other items the soldiers can’t get over there. Feel free to email me if you have other questions.

Thank you for organizing this!! I signed up a few days ago and am really excited to start assembling my package for Jon and his friends.
